Rewrite the standards in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
I know how to draw proofs from useful texts and apply it to a writing format. I also know how to identify and find out the narrator's thoughts towards the idea of the topic as well as determining the claims in the text and differentiating those claims. Writing exam 2 relates to the standards because we had to find useful information from the excerpt "Eleven" and we had to determine the tone of the narrator and what she thinks. We also had to find examples of similes and what the girl from the excerpt thinks about aging.
What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps I took to complete and do well on this assignment is I took notes in my ISN and studied over and over and tried to memorize the ways I can make my writing prompt desirable and captivating. I also studied by following the instructions on the writing exam 2 handout and I also went over my grade rubric so that I could go over what I have to do in order to get a perfect score. I also got important points about the excerpt and wrote it down to be prepared for the writing prompt. During the writing exam, I made sure I had five complete paragraphs that each included relevent information. I tried my best so that I could get a good grade on my writing exam and also raise my overall ELA grade.
This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...........
This assignment allows me to show my writing strengths and my good understanding of the the material as well as literature in general. This assignment also shows that I understand the format of any particular five paragraph essay. Since I studied my rubric several times to have a benefit of knowing what to do, according to my grade rubric I got a pretty good score for one, stating the purpose clearly, two, organizing it, three, elaborating the evidence four, good language and vocab and five, conventions. adding up the overall scores two different teachers gave me, in five different categories, I got a passing grade of 3.5!
I could have improved on this assignment by........
I could have improved on this assignment by developing a good hook to make my writing more interesting and attention seeking. I also could have made my writing more neater because I felt like I rushed on it. I also could have been more descriptive when it came to supporting detail. I also could have improved on my little punctuation mistakes. I also could have worked on planning my writing beforehand so that I don't have to stress out in the last minute. I think I stumbled a little on the tone so I could have a little more improvement on that too. If I keep doing my best and learning from my mistakes, I will get good grades.
How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
If I am writing an essay in high school or next year I will be prepared and learn from my mistakes from my writing exams from 6th grade. I would write at least five paragraphs and make my essay great without spelling mistakes. I could maybe prepare for future exams from learning from this exam and make my writing very good. I could maybe use this writing exam to use what I learned to make a personal statement for a college.
