CONTINENTAL DRIFT ES-1a
ES 1-a: Students know evidence of plate tectonics is derived from 1) fit of continents, 2) location of earthquakes, volcanoes, mid-ocean ridges, and 3) distribution of fossils, rock types, and ancient climatic zones.
ES1c: Students know lithospheric plates the size of continents and oceans move at rates of centimeters per year in response to movement in the mantle.

Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does the assignment relate to the standard?
This assignment relates to the standards because we had to construct a project that showed and explained how Alfred Wegener and Henry Hess' evidence helped prove the theory of Continental drift, which tells us that continents have moved, and continue to move, at the rate of 2 cm. a year. On the project we showed how the different continents fit together like pieces of a puzzle. We showed fossils and rock layers of the same type on different continents, which proves that at one point these lands were connected.
What steps did you take to complete and do well on this assignment?
I found information of Alfred Wegener and I worked in my group on the illustrations of the maps and i put relevent information. What I did to complete this assignment was I gathered all the information I could and applied it to the poster and I came back an glued it on I got A four.
3. this assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
this assignment demonstrates the strengths of making a poster and explaining things about the theories for people to read.
4. i could have improved my work on this assignment by...
i could have improved my work by putting more specific pictures that when other people see it, they can know if it is the proof of continental drift. also, i could have put more information about it which can help to get a better score.
5. how will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in the real world as an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
i can apply the skill of making a posture in the future to make business or to pass out in a company that i might work in when i'm an adult.
