1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
The standard 8.9.1 is about how the abolitionists and the leaders of the movements were. Those are such as Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, Dred Scott, etc,. In this Diary of The Civil war, I mentioned how many slaves were taken to the North in the underground railroad. I put myself in the shoes of a slave & describe how they felt, what they thought, and all that they went though the hardest times.
2.Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project.
I gained lots of knowledge and creativity because of this project. I had to put myself in the shoes of the slaves and abolitionists for this project which helped me gain knowledge and creativity that I can apply later on in my life.. in the future in high school or beyond. I could apply these skills to succeed later on in life when I need to learn more about the history of the U.S.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is one area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects.
One area I could have done netter on was managing my time. I turned in my civil war diary a little later than the actual due date. I would probably get a higher or a perfect score if I had turned it in a little sooner. I also could have put more color to the pictures that I drew because I used pencil rather than colored pencils, crayons, or markers. If I had taken these steps, my civil war diary would have been better and more presentable.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today's society)? Make connections between the content and your life.
In the future, whether I am in college or in high school i will use the skill I learned from this project. It helped me with creativity and neatness put into this project. In the future, I will apply what I learned about abolitionists and slaves by being in their shoes because of this civil war diary. I was able to obtain knowledge about the different causes and events during and before and after the civil war.
