1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
The Manzanar Magazine meets the standard because I had to explain 5 sections of the Manzanar Magazine. It was more political problems such as racism and how it affected the lives of many internees. I also had to site evidence and, summarize key points, as well as identify the central idea. And most importantly, I had to gather the information from the research I did.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project.
One skill that I had on this assignment is that I summarized key points from my research. I learned how to organize things in a fun and creative way! A life skill I can take from this assignment is the living conditions of the poor internees.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects?
One area I could've done better on was the drawings. In particular, I would say the title page. The title page was not fully decorated how I wanted it to be. It was black and white, and it didn't have much excitement to catch eyes, and decorations. I also could've printed out the pictures rather than drawing it because the little flaws make a huge difference. Overall, I could've improved on the illustration.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly connections between the content and your life.
I will apply the content and skills from this assignment to the real world. First of all I can inform other people about the unjust internment of the Japanese-Americans and how racism affects people's lives in a negative. Also, if I need to relearn the lesson on internment in the future like in college, I will know. In my life, I've seen a lot of racism and it's quite sad.. this is how it relates to my life..
