"Go Big, Papa? Winter Vacation Poster Project"
7.EE.4a - Solve word problems leading to equations of the form px + q = r and p(x + q) = r, where p, q, and r3. Pizza Pi Performance Task Poster Project
7.G.B.4
Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems; give an informal derivation of the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle. are specific rational numbers. Solve equations of these forms fluently. Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach. For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm. Its length is 6 cm. What is its width?,'
1. Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
equations with the form of pxqr and p(xq)r, where p, q, and r are rational numbers. Solve equations like the following forms with no mistakes. Compare a mathematic solution to an arithmetic solution, looking for the order of operations in each way of coming in. This standard relates to the assignment because we are doing two step equations and two step equations with distributive property. Also, we perform problems with finding the missing length of width of a triangle, or any quadrilateral and make an equation to solve the problem.
2. What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps I took to complete the assignment was 1, bought all the materials I needed, for example a poster board and a couple of markers. Then, I did the worksheet that ms. Ha gave us. I transfered it on to the board. After I was done, I decorated the edges and drew lots of pizzas everywhere to make it look cute.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths…
This assignment demonstrates that I know how to find the different measurements of a pizza. More specifically, the pi, diameter, circumference, and area of the circle. It also allows me to show my creative skills because I drew pictures rather than printing. It also shows all the effort I put in because I wrote each problem and the explanations for them.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by …
I could have improved on this assignment by working on it earlier. I worked on it the last two days however. If I worked on it as soon as I got it, it would have been a little more organized. I also could have printed out the pictures and words for a professional look! Another thing I could've done was buy a colorful board to make it look mor beautiful.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I will apply this when I'm in 8th grade next year. we always end up using the information we learned the previous years in middle school, elementary, and pretty much high school and college. I will need to know this so I know the basic steps for me to accomplish my dream job. Math will be a huge part of my life. And I will order lots of pizza when I grow up so I'll need to know this. I like pizza.
